Good fit if
You want to brew loose leaf tea with more control and share small repeated cups.
A richly colored peony tea set in the falangcai style, sized for one hand. It includes a kuaike pot with lid and filter, one host cup, two 45 ml cups and a padded zip case shaped to fit the set.
| Piece | Size | Capacity |
|---|---|---|
| Each cup | 2 in diameter × 1.5 in H (5.2 × 3.9 cm) | about 45 ml / 1.5 US fl oz |
Measurements are taken by hand from the supplier's specification and may vary slightly.
A kuaike cup is a pot and cup in one: the lower vessel holds the brewed tea and the lid or inner basket holds the leaves. Brew, strain, then pour into the small cups. After brewing, the cups stack on or inside the main vessel so the whole set packs into the case. The case is shaped to the kuaike set, so the pieces do not rattle.
Falangcai is a Chinese style of colorful, enamel-like painted decoration on porcelain, often with flowers and gold outlines. On this set the colored pattern is fired onto the porcelain surface, giving bright, raised-looking motifs on a white body.
This set serves one to three people. Pack it for the office, a hotel room, a road trip, a picnic or a campsite, or give it as a tea gift to someone who travels often. Bring your own loose leaf tea and hot water.
Rinse every piece with warm water after use and let them dry completely before packing them into the case, so the case stays fresh. Avoid sudden hot-to-cold temperature changes, and hand wash to protect the decoration.
The host cup is the slightly larger cup for the person brewing. The two smaller cups are for guests.
The largest vessel holds about 45 ml and each cup about 45 ml, so one brew fills roughly 1 cups. Gongfu-style tea is brewed in several short rounds, so the set easily serves one to three people.
Yes. The pieces stack together and fit inside the padded case, which keeps them from knocking against each other in a bag or suitcase.
